  1. THE RAVEN - A 9 x 12 scratchboard drawing. It appears in the book, "The Fire-Fiend and The Raven, by Charles D. Gardette and Edgar Allan Poe, published by de la Ree in 1973.

    Edgar Allan Poe (1809 - 1849) - A major writer in American literature as a poet, a short story writer, and a critic. He is also credited with being a pioneer of Horror, science fiction, and the detective story.

    He was a uniquely talented man, but a sadly troubled man. He lived for only 40 years. 164 years have passed since he died and still his haunting works continue to be published. And as long as that remains so, we will always have the pleasure of reading the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
